The Hexcell single-phase STS prepaid energy meter is a high-accuracy active energy metering device designed for modern electricity utilities and end-users. It uses digital media for secure information exchange, enabling users to purchase electricity in advance and settle usage via a 20-digit STS TOKEN. Customers obtain the TOKEN through a power vending system and enter it on the external CIU keypad, instantly loading prepaid credit into the meter for reliable active power metering and prepaid control.
This versatile meter supports seamless switching between prepaid and postpaid modes. Depending on the installation environment, it offers flexible communication options—including LoRa, PLC, 2G/4G, LoRaWAN for uplink to AMI systems, and PLC, LoRa, M-Bus or RS485 for downlink communication with the Customer Interface Unit (CIU).
